Privacy Policy

Raise or Fold ("we", "us", "our") operates the Raise or Fold mobile application (the "App"), a poker-strategy training tool. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By creating an account or using the App, you agree to this policy.

Information we collect

Account information — your email address, chosen username, and the country you select at sign-up. If you sign in with Google, we receive your email address and basic profile information from Google.
Approximate country from your IP address — at sign-up we make a one-time lookup of your approximate country (via ipapi.co) purely to pre-fill the country selector. You can change it. We store the resulting country code, not your IP address.
Gameplay data — your rating, accuracy, streaks, puzzle progress, achievements, and practice history, so we can track your progress and rank you on leaderboards.
Hand-analysis content — when you use the hand-analysis feature, the hand histories, screenshots, or share links you submit are processed to generate feedback (see "AI processing" below).
Technical data — authentication tokens and basic app data required to keep you signed in and the App functioning.

We do not collect precise (GPS) location, and we do not sell your personal data.

How we use your information

To create and secure your account and authenticate you.
To provide the training features, save your progress, and show leaderboards.
To generate AI feedback on hands you submit for analysis.
To enforce plan limits (e.g. daily puzzles and analyses).
To send account-related emails, such as email verification.
To maintain, debug, and improve the App.

Service providers (sub-processors)

We share the minimum data necessary with the following processors, who act on our behalf:

Supabase	Authentication, database, and backend hosting for your account and gameplay data.
Google	"Sign in with Google" (OAuth), if you choose it.
Anthropic (Claude)	AI analysis — hand text/images you submit are sent to Anthropic to generate feedback.
ipapi.co	One-time approximate-country lookup at sign-up.
Resend	Delivery of transactional emails (e.g. email verification).

If we introduce paid subscriptions in the future, a payment processor will handle billing; we will update this policy before that goes live.

Legal bases (EEA/UK users)

Where the GDPR applies, we process your data to perform our contract with you (providing the App), based on your consent (e.g. the optional country lookup), and for our legitimate interests in operating, securing, preventing abuse, and improving the App.

Data retention & account deletion

We keep your account and gameplay data for as long as your account is active. You can permanently delete your account at any time from the app (account menu → Delete Account); this immediately removes your personal data and gameplay history.

To prevent abuse (repeatedly deleting and recreating accounts to reset free-tier limits), when you delete your account we retain a one-way hashed form of your email address — not the email itself — for 30 days, solely to enforce a re-registration cooldown. It cannot be reversed to your email and is discarded after the cooldown.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to withdraw consent. To exercise any of these, contact us at the address below and we will respond within a reasonable time.

Security

We use industry-standard measures (encrypted connections, managed authentication, access controls) to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information.

Children

The App is intended for adults (18+) and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

International transfers

Our providers may process data in countries other than yours. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date at the top of this page.
